  • i should be otherwise engaged, counting sheep, sawing logs, or the like...

...but, thought it was about time i checked in.

happy fourth of july! it's no longer the fourth in ontario, which is where i currently preside, but, my computer's clock tells me it is still 10:30p on the west coast, and seeing as though my body is seemingly still functioning within that time zone, i'm running with it.

this week, i've celebrated canada day twice. wednesday, we threw a party at home, hosting a group of about 30... yesterday,  my first day back in ontario, john and julie had a big gathering of family [along w/ the neighbors, mattandjody and myself] at their place in the country, and i got to enjoy a fireworks display and rousing chorus of "o, canada" to finish off the festivities... i love canada, love living here, and am grateful for the family of God in all countries.

that said, i am thankful i am american. a day like today holds significance not b/c of my celebrations [or, lack thereof, as the case held for me today.], but, in the meaning it represents to me personally. i no longer live in the u.s., and do not know if i will ever live there at any point for the remainder of my life, but, that in no way changes my identity as an american. i love my country.

i'll head to bed, now. more to write, lots to catch up, hopefully soon.
